BSF ASI (RM) HC (RO) (Phase I OMR Based Screening Test)

BSF HC (RO) & ASI (RM) Syllabus 2016

Border Security Force (BSF) is going to recruit Assistant Sub-Inspector (Radio Mechanic) and Head Constable (Radio Operator).

Selection Process :

  • (A) First Phase
    1. i. Objective Type Written Test
      ii. Descriptive Type Written Test
  • (B) Second Phase
    1. i. Preliminary Screening (PST)
      ii. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
      iii. Verification of Original Documents
      iv. Final Medical Examination

    Written Examination (OMR Based)

    Exam Pattern :- BSF HC/RO & ASI/RM Exam Pattern will be as follows :
      ► The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
      ► There will be a composite paper carrying 100 questions of 200 marks.
      ► The duration of test will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
      ► Each question shall carry 02 marks and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

    Exam Syllabus :-

    BSF Radio Operator & Mechanic syllabus is given below :
    Physics :
    Physical world and measurements, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Gravitation, current electricity, magnetism, optics, reflection and refraction, electronic devices, communication system etc.
    Chemistry :
    Atoms, elements and their properties, chemical bonding, molecular structure, matter, gases, liquid, metals, non-metals, acids, carbon, hydrogen, equilibrium, isolation, compounds etc.
    Mathematics :
    Relations, trigonometry, complex numbers, quadratic equations, sequence and series, geometry, mathematical reasoning, statistics, mean, median, mode, deviation, variance etc.
    English & GK :
    In English Error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc. In GK Modern History of India, Indian culture, Polity, Economy, Geography of India, everyday science, observation and experiences, current events, national and international importance, sports, couture etc. Descriptive Test
  • i) FOR ASI/RM CANDIDATES:- A Paper of maximum 200 marks covering Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Electronics subject (12th standard/Diploma level).
  • ii) FOR HC/RO CANDIDATES:- Candidates will be tested for two categories as per following procedure:-
  • a) WRITTEN TEST (DESCRIPTIVE PATTERN) A paper of maximum 100 marks covering Physics, Chemistry & English (12th standard).
  • b) DICTATION TEST :
      ○ Dictation test (in English writing) of minimum 100 words – 100 Marks.
      ○ Qualifying marks for the dictation test will be 38% & for General/OBC and 33% for SC/ST candidates.
